Ben Haining
Through the experience and expertise, I have gained in elite, professional and youth sport, I aim to help you maximise your training!
I enjoyed the benefit of many sporting opportunities as a young person; I played every sport I could! My passion for fitness, sport, coaching and Strength and Conditioning has always run in parallel with my adult sporting activities. From the Basketball Court at Loughborough University as a young man, to football, cricket and rugby pitches playing for teams in my 20’s and 30’s and now on to the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu mat in my 40s.
I have been working professionally in Strength and Conditioning, elite sport and coach education for over 20 years.
After completing my sports science degree at Loughborough university I worked in professional cricket as Head of Strength and Conditioning at Sussex County Cricket Club from 2003-2007 including a stint as a consultant to the England U19 Cricket team for the junior World Cup in 2005. In 2004 I was Assistant Technical Coach for the Great Britain Women’s Basketball team. I continued my association with top-flight cricket as an Athletic Performance consultant to Surrey County Cricket Club from 2009 to 2011. From 2008 until 2013 I was part of the AMS team providing Strength and Conditioning guidance for WTA tour tennis player, Olympian and British number 1, Elena Baltacha. In 2009 I set up the first integrated Strength and Conditioning programme at Reed’s School in the UK, where I remain Head of Strength and Conditioning and Head of the Sport Performance Programme.
During my career I have been very fortunate to work with some of the best coaches, trainers and medics in the world. In those surroundings you pick up great knowledge and learning. These skills and learning I want to offer you on the Stronger Project.
